World Horse Welfare

Many people are unaware of horse smuggling. Horses are being moved between the UK and Europe using fraudulent passports, and some horses end up in slaughterhouses. World Horse Welfare is looking to stop the practice by improving regulation and traceability and asked us to produce an animation to raise awareness and support.

We worked with World Horse Welfare to create a narrative that focuses on a single horse’s journey from being a well-loved family pet to becoming a mistreated commodity that is traded illegally. We wanted to accentuate the storytelling through the artwork, and in the animation, we show how the horse’s life transitions from being full of life and colour to one that’s claustrophobic, dark and grimy.
